About Color Blindness
Color blindness, or color vision deficiency, affects roughly 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women. The most common types are red-green deficiencies: protanopia (missing red cones) and deuteranopia (missing green cones). Tritanopia is a rarer blue-yellow deficiency, while achromatopsia is total color blindness where only brightness is perceived.
This simulator applies color transformation matrices to each pixel of your image, approximating how each type of color vision sees it. Designers use these previews to ensure that information is not conveyed by color alone and that interfaces remain usable for everyone.
