About UTM Parameters
UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) parameters are tags added to the end of a URL that tell analytics tools where traffic came from. When a visitor clicks a tagged link, the utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign values are recorded, allowing you to attribute traffic and conversions to specific campaigns.
Source, medium, and campaign are the most important parameters; term and content are optional and typically used for paid search keywords and A/B testing different link variations. Keep your naming consistent (lowercase, no spaces) so your reports stay clean and easy to compare.
